Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad

Ethiopia Education Programme – designing a long-term evaluation (work in progress). This is an exciting assignment as the organisation is new to the monitoring and evaluation of social change. SPANA's origins are rooted in the veterinary / scientific discipline, caring for working animals such as donkeys and horses in developing countries.

We are tasked with complementing the setting up of a brand new long-term education programme for school children in Ethiopia with the appropriate m&e programme. We are taking an organisational development approach to this so that our intervention will be sustainable. This means that we are developing, in consultation with the client, the framework, tools and systems for M&E, as well as building internal skills for setting objectives, indicators and carrying out M&E activities in future. After the initial set-up phase our involvement will reduce as the ongoing evaluation process can increasingly be handled in-house.

"dpevaluation are proving extremely capable at guiding us through the complicated process of setting up an M&E framework"– Diana Hulme, Director of Education, SPANA.
